Here are some photos from our Halloween party a few weeks ago. A lot of them are shot with a similar style to the Shine River Rave. I tried to make them as chaotic as possible. I think some turned out alright.
I can recall when Halloween was completely unknown and certainly uncelebrated in Japan. Things certainly have changed. Years ago we organized a Trick or Treat for the kids in the expat community in Iwaki and the looks we got from bystanders will never be forgotten.

What is this site about?
This blog started in June of 2009 and sets out to share my experience with living and working in Iwaki, Fukushima-ken in Japan through the JET Programme. I arrived in August of 2009 and I am contracted to stay for 12 months.
Topics for this blog will include: living and working in Japan, Japanese culture, teaching English, learning Japanese, blogging, preparations, and any other general questions or ponderings that I might have. Photography is also a hobby of mine and I will be sharing as many photos as I can.
